I JUST WANTED TO MAKE A PERSONAL PUSH FOR THE FOOD DRIVE. THE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER HAS TAKEN OVER THE FOOD PANTRY. A REP FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER CAME TO SEE US A FEW WEEKS AGO AND EXPRESSED A DIRE NEED FOR FOOD THIS TIME OF YEAR. THERE IS A LOT GOING OUT RIGHT NOW AND NOT AS MUCH COMING IN. PLEASE PUSH YOUR BONUS PERIODS TO REACH 100 ITEMS.
THE STUDENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCEMENT READS:
Student council is sponsoring a Food Drive to benefit the local food pantry. We will be collecting non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products and cleaning products from December 8 until December 16. The items must not be out dated and we can not accept dented cans or homemade items. There is a great need in our own community for these items. Please be as generous as you can. Any bonus period room that collects 50 items or more will receive candy bars. Any room that collects 100 or more items will get a pizza party.
