Power of Good Assessment

I just wanted to share a great example of good assessment today and the use of the electronic response systems (clickers)...

The students I observed today all had clickers. The teacher had review problems from the textbook website up on the projector. The students were given one minute to answer the question. After the minute was up, the teacher ended the question and the class saw that 9 people answered A, 4 answered B, 4 answered C, and 1-2 answered D. The correct answer was B. Nine students had all given the same wrong answer. This gave valuable real time data to the teacher. The concept was taught again and the nine heads all gave a smile and a nod (Ah Ha moment).

Great use of the clickers and assessment in action at LJH!
