Learning at Lincoln

Staff-  We are well on our way to building the culture of TEAM Lincoln through our motto this year of TOGETHER.  We have built some momentum on becoming a true team of teachers that values  a collaborative, supportive learning environment that is built on strong communication.  On our first day together we talked about who we are and what we were about and thus far we are seeing our vision in action.  We have seen evidence of this culture as we walk through our school.  We see teachers helping students and each other in supportive ways.  We have seen teachers talking about learning and going out of their way to help each other.  We have seen the use of collaborative tools in the classroom with My Big Campus and Todays Meet.  This is modeling the way for our students.  Teachers are making decisions based on what is best for students.  Teachers are being flexible and are willing to think outside the box.  When we have had technology issues teachers have helped each other and communicated with each other to get things to work.  We have been impressed because this is the culture we have all committed to establishing and continuing here at Lincoln.  This is a Learning Community.  Ssharing ideas, taking risks in the classroom, and collaborating about what we have learned and what works for our students is a best practice of a learning community.  We will need to continue to keep these behaviors in FOCUS.
In order to facilitate and promote this culture we have added some ways that we can both learn from each other and to reward those who are working TOGETHER.  We have opened the comment ability on this blog.  Feel free to use the comment section to share and learn from each other.  We have been using #TEAMLJH on twitter as a way to share best practices and celebrate learning. If you are not on twitter try it out.  We have the 180 Days of Learning Blog to share about the impact that we are having on student learning.  We have we emphasized our STORM WATCH for students and even extended this to staff, maybe some of you have even received tickets for a free jean day.  This was Hopple's idea and I love it.  All of these practices will help us stay TOGETHER and promote Team Lincoln.  If you haven't been paying attention to some of these practices I encourage you to take some time and share, support, communicate, collaborate, and learn with someone soon.  Keep up the good work our culture depends on it.
