Being a Contributor #TEAMLJH

I was able to attend the Powerful Learning Practice Boot Camp for educational leaders in Indianapolis on Thursday last week.  The day was spent learning how to transform education using powerful practices.   Becoming a connected learner and contributor is a powerful practice that can not only transform my learning but also the learning of Lincoln.  I see this practice of becoming a connected learner and leader as a way to help Lincoln become a better Professional Learning Community.  Our PLC must be built on collaboration.  This collaboration means sharing practices, collaborating to improve student learning, having discussions around student learning data, and each of us becoming a contributor.  What does it mean to become a contributor?  As a coach I used praise my teams after a win by celebrating all of the ways that every member of the team contributed to the win.  Every member of the team had a role in the success that we had on game nights.  Many team members contributed in different ways but each was important to the positive outcome.  This is true for TEAM LINCOLN as well.  Each team member can contribute to our success in different ways.   When we all contribute we win.  This year at Lincoln everyone will have opportunities to contribute.   One way to contribute and be a connected learner in our PLC is to use #TEAMLJH on twitter.  I challenge everyone to become connected and share what is happening in your classrooms, share a best practice, or a good article that you have read  by tweeting and using #TEAMLJH.  Allie Holland recently provided some guidance on having an online presence and twitter is a great way to get started.  By tweeting to #TEAMLJH we can learn from each other and we can all be CONTRIBUTORS to Team Lincoln.  Get connected an share in helping Lincoln become the best we can be.
