You all do make a difference each and every day here at Lincoln and I thank you for doing so and for being willing to continue to challenge the status quo and work hard to help our students achieve more than they think is possible. As we close the first semester and move into 2016 you can be proud of the positive impact that you have on students. Our students continuously identify our teachers as what they like best about Lincoln and this makes Lincoln a great place for them to learn how to learn and become the best they can be.
2016 will bring many new challenges for all of us. We will continue to learn together to help our students be successful both academically and socially. We will continue to learn how best to prepare students to master the Indiana Academic standards. This is our common interest.
Here is a look ahead to 2016:
We will receive a breakdown of our ISTEP data in January and we will use this to help us get better. There is no doubt in my mind that we can grow from adversity as this is what professionals do.
A new schedule for the 2016-2017 school year will be announced. This schedule will help us have more time in the area of math and we will find a way to better support those students that need extra time to learn the standards.
The math department will be adopting new resources to help teach our new math standards. This process will start in January.
We will start our winter season of the Five Star video curriculum in January. We will schedule it so that it is only on Wednesdays. Five Star will be here to gives us feedback on the implementation as well during January.
We will meet on January 11th for our next Monday PD. This meeting will be for our Schools to Watch committees to meet one last time prior to the writing of the narrative part of the application.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for the Christmas gift. I love food so it was much appreciated. Have a relaxing and enjoyable break and holiday. Happy New Year!
