Go Time

This week is Go Time.  This is the time that we have been preparing for all year.  We have prepared our students for this moment and for success.  Although we don't know what the assessment will exactly look like we have been preparing students to think and be more successful on complex LA and math tasks.  ILEARN is an assessment that measures students achievement and growth with the Indiana Academic Standards.  It is a summative assessment however we will also learn from this assessment.  We will learn the impact that we have had on students achieving those standards and whether students are growing.  We will use what we learn to continue to improve our impact with students academically.  We have grown immensely over the past few years as standards are more complex than ever before and we will continue to grow because that is what we do at Lincoln.  This assessment will allow us to know where we are, we know where we need to go, and we will continue to learn together to grow around our next steps to have all students learn at high levels.  Embrace the assessment, encourage students to do their best and give them the confidence to show us what they know.

Highlights @ Lincoln

A shout out to our academic coaches and teams as they competed at the Conference Competition this past weekend.  Thanks to the coaches for their leadership and great job.

Kudos to Mrs. Day for her organization of our very successful annual South Bend reading program.  Lori has taken total ownership of the reading program and the trip to see the Cubs each year.  She does a great job and I thank her.  We had a great day watching baseball and spending time with our students, over 50 students attended this year.  Always an awesome and positive event for Lincoln students.
