2nd Quarter

 We start the 2nd quarter tomorrow.  Over the course of the 1st 9 weeks we have pulled together and accomplished much.  We have opened a brand new building, we have learned to balance both virtual and in person learning,  we have been flexible and able to manage a revolving door of students in and out of school, we have made adjustments to save the storm and keep our students and staff healthy, and we are still in school.   We have much to be grateful for as we move into 2nd quarter.  We have had each others back, we have been all in, One Team, One Family.  

As we welcome both new students and a new 9 weeks it will continue to be of immense importance that we build upon our successes and continue to be all in.  With the numbers of COVID cases on the rise our practices and protocols to Save the Storm will be instrumental in keeping us healthy and open.  Continue to remind students of our procedures.  With the increase in students in our classrooms, masking up and keeping detailed accounts of seating and who students are working with will be of increased importance.  Please make sure that you strategically seat students in classrooms and know who students are sitting with and working with throughout class periods.  Please turn in seating charts by the end of the day on Tuesday.  Our returning students will need guidance these first couple of days with locations and procedures.  Please be out in the hallways and helping students.  Here is an updated list of student status as we start the new quarter.  Be sure to check as there have been some changes.  

2nd Quarter Status

How did your students do first quarter?  I have made the choice to not hold formal parent teacher conferences this semester.  This decision was based on several factors.  First, I am confident that teachers have and are making contact with parents.  The need to have or schedule additional conferences are not necessary when this is what we do regularly and who we are.  If for some reason there is still some contacts that you need to make please make them.  I know that Jake and I have made numerous phone calls to parents of students that we are concerned with.  Together we are all in and have each others back.  Second, with the amount of hard work that teachers are putting in and the amount of challenges that we have faced I believe putting one more task on your plates is not feasible at this time.  Third, I believe in student led conferences and in person conferences.  Students and parents are different in person and bringing them in during this time is not possible due to COVID.  We hopefully can have such conferences in the future.  

So as we embark on the 2nd quarter, let's continue to improve and be Amazing!  

Accolades @ Lincoln: 

Congrats to our conference champion girls cross country team.  This is two in a row for our program.  Great job to our amazing coaches, Betsy Bowen, Angie Bronicki, and Megan Wiesenberg. Your program is impressive.  

Kudos to Carol Gilbert- Carol has worked tirelessly in making sure that our student athletes can have fall seasons and remain healthy throughout.  Kudos to a job well done.  

Welcome back Bob, Kevin, and Kimberly.  I know being out for an extended time is hard and not ideal but we appreciate your work while you were away to help us provide quality learning experiences for your students.  

Continued Kudos to our aides:  Thank you, Ashley Langley, Kathy Ruffing, Ashley Oliver, Kim Bodmer, Chloe Kulwicki, and Jesus Jimenez for your flexibility and willingness to help when we have been short on subs.  You have been Amazing! 

Brandi Brennan- Thanks go out to Brandi for her learning all things stage related.  She has spent extra time learning the lights and sound for the stage.  Much appreciated.  

Megan Wiesenberg- Kudos to getting the student council up and going.  I look forward to seeing our student leaders leading @ Lincoln.  

Lori Day, Megan Atkinson, and Megan Wiesenberg-  Kudos for decorating display cases around school.  They look amazing.  

Sandy Cartwirght-  Kudos to Sandy for her strategery each morning to get coverage for our classrooms.  

Our Fundraising Team-  Becky, Sandy, Sue, and Lori.  Thank you for your organization and attention to detail throughout the fundraiser.  They have taken time out of their days to count and organize the chocolate and money. We anticipate a really big day tomorrow.  

Sarah Drang- Sarah has done an amazing job with our new normal.  Her organization of our students' COVID symptoms, communication with families, and flexibility with our new normal has been Amazing and this is on top of the normal items that she encounters daily.  Thank you for being Amazing! 

Upcoming @ Lincoln

PD this week-  Tuesday 7:15-7:45 Department Collaboration 

                        Tuesday Oct. 27th Team Lincoln PD 

Grades- Grades are due by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.  Report cards will be sent home with students 8th period on Thursday.  

Fall Tailgate-  Friday we will have two separate tailgates.  7th grade will be in the morning and 8th grade in the afternoon.  7th grade students that have sold multiple boxes will be dismissed at 8:30 to attend. the tailgate, 7th graders having sold 1 box will released at 9:30.  8th graders having sold multiple boxes will be dismissed at 12:30 and those having sold 1 box will be released at 1:30.  Teachers are welcome to come outside during your prep to join the fun.  Aides will be outside helping supervise during both tailgates.  Students that have not sold at least one box will be in class throughout the day.  We will have a regular Friday schedule for those students.  We are still in need of Corn Hole games.  If you can loan your games for the day we would be greatly appreciative. Please let me know if you can lend yours for my planning purposes.  We will share lists of students that have qualified for the tailgates on Thursday.  

Tomorrow-  With our new students, they will know their schedules however they will need help with locations so please be out and helping students.  

Picture Day- Tuesday-  Staff picture will be in the gym at 7:30.  Pictures will be taken through Science classes.  Cameras will be set up in the wrestling room.
