The Fred Factor

Over the past couple years the LJH staff has studied and learned a lot. Occassionally I would like to post examples of what we've learned along the way to serve as reminders of what is important. Here is a quote from one of our teachers discussing FRED.

Fred modeled both well. He loved the people he served and served them with compassion while maintaining a determined focus on excellence. He always went the second mile in his attitude and service. He put others needs before his own but never compromised his outstanding work ethic.

As educators we need to develop relationships with students based upon mutual respect. We need to encourage students to be successful while maintaining focus on the  instructional goals set before us relating to class content.  When students sense we genuinely care about them, we have a much better opportunity to reach them. If we want to make a difference in student's lives we must work to maintain this balance.
