Fall Break Post

We have made it to fall break.  All of you deserve a break and I hope that you find some time to relax and recharge yourself for the rest of the second quarter.  We have much to celebrate from the first quarter of the year.  Here are some recent impressive successes.

Student Led Conference:  Our turn out seemed pretty good tonight.  I know I saw a lot of traffic in and out the front door and that is a direct result of your hard work with our students during your advisory period and encouraging students and parents to attend.  I know that we received some great feedback from parents about how their students did leading their conferences.  Many parents stated that this is the first time in a long time that their students have enjoyed school.  This is a result of our great teachers and the connections that you make with them daily.

  •  If your contacts were at 100 percent and you turn in your schedule of those contacts to me you will receive a jeans pass that will be valid until Nov. 10th
  • If your contacts were at 90% and you turn in your schedule of those contacts to me you will receive a jeans pass that will be valid until Nov. 3rd
  • If your contacts were at 80% and you turn in your schedule of those contacts to me you will receive a jeans pass that will be valid until Oct. 27th
Special thanks to the Student Led Conference committee led by Shanna Wiese for their work with planning the process for the conferences.

Fundraiser:
Wow!  You all did great in encouraging students to sell and raise funds for our school.  This was the most successful fundraiser since I have been around Lincoln.  We could not have been this successful without your consistent encouragement to students.  In nine school days we took in well over $30,000 dollars and after paying for the chocolate we have made a lot of money for our student resources account.  We will use the funds to provide great opportunities for students.  One upcoming event we will plan is an 8th grade field trip to Ivy Tech and hopefully ITAMCO.  This is a trip that all 8th graders and advisory teachers will participate in for our Preparing for College and Careers class.  If you have other ideas for student experiences please share.  Great job!

Upcoming:

School Improvement Council-  All teachers are part of our school improvement council that will participate in our school improvement process.  Our first council meeting for the year will be on Monday Oct. 23 rd when we get back from break from 5:00 to 7:00.  Food will be provided for participants.  We would like all teachers and adult staff to attend.  The meeting will look at our school improvement interventions.

Pizza Hut Night for Lincoln Junior High-  Monday Oct. 30th Bring your families and friends and come support Lincoln.  Our student council members will be serving patrons.  This is a great opportunity to show your support and help us raise some more funds for student activities.
