November Rain

Well November started with little sun and lots of rain and begins our dark an dreary race to spring.  Although I love fall and really do not mind winter they can be tough times for schools as students become restless and a little more stir crazy than normal.  It is especially tough when the time changes (this happens Sunday) and it is often dark or almost dark by the time we leave school.  Months and months of this can be taxing on our line of work.  This is why our ability to be together and be collective in our efforts will be vital to our success during the toughest months of the year for schools. 

Collectively,  we need to challenge ourselves to stay positive and have growth mindsets rather than the fixed negative mindsets that often can rear their ugliness during the months ahead.   Collectively we need to stay focused on our goal of ALL STUDENTS LEARNING AT HIGH LEVELS.  Collectively, we need to actively supervise hallways and common areas because our consistent presence is often a deterrent to make poor choices.  I know that just today during donuts with dudes at least two students talked about how we could improve hallway and recess supervision.  They felt their are not enough supervisors in either area.  I appreciate all of you that are consistently out in the hallway each and every period.
