4th Quarter

This is the 4th quarter.  In ball games involving quarters you may find teams often holding up 4 fingers and fans jumping around to encourage their teams to finish strong and close out the victory.  Our 4th quarter starts Monday and we too must finish strong and close out our victory.  The victory for Team Lincoln means that we have successfully impacted the lives of our students both as learners and as human beings.  We set out from the beginning to put forth extra effort every class period everyday to get to know our students, to connect with our students, every student, to be a champion for your students.  Going into the forth quarter of this year, where are you in earning this victory?  What adjustments do you need to make to ensure victory?  What little things must you make sure you pay attention to in order to finish strong?  What relationships do you need to repair down the stretch?  What have you learned during the first 3 quarters to ensure victory?  What connections can you still make to help your students be more successful than they think they can?  Finish strong, together we can have the impact that ensures our success!

Team Lincoln Highlights: 

Broadcasting students earn national awards-  Again this year Lincoln students were winners in several categories for their work in our mass media classes.  We had four groups of students win first place awards.  Great job to our students and to Paula for entering our students into the national contest.  Our broadcasting program has become a standard setting middle school program throughout the nation.  Great work.

Our 7th grade science fair winners had a great showing at Notre Dame last weekend to showcase their science fair projects.  All three entries earned 1st or 2nd place in several categories.  Great job to our science department for allowing our students to flourish in the STEM area.

Heartland Arts Show and Youth Art Month-  Numerous of our very own students have their artwork on display at the Heartland Artists Gallery.  If you have not seen the display at the gallery be sure to check it out. We have a bunch of very talented artists right here at Lincoln.  Kudos to Mrs. Wiesenberg for her work with our students and showcasing their work.

6th Grade Parent Night- Tuesday 6:30-  7th grade teachers meet in Gym at 6:30- Jeans tickets for the rest of the week for teachers that attend. 

South Bend Cubs Read In - Friday 3/15 2 hour delay schedule Friday 3/22 Spirit Assembly schedule-  we will have the read in from 8:05 to 10:05 then pick up the Spirit Assembly schedule

Student led conferences-  7th grade Monday 3/18 8th grade 3/19  3:30 to 7:00 both nights.  Elective teachers should attend the grade of their advisory classes or pick a night or both.  Advisory teachers need to prepare students for the student led conference this week during advisory.  Students will receive report cards at the conferences and this can be a key talking point.  Conference should be 15 minutes in length.  Please reach out to parents to invite them to the conferences.

Incentive Skating Parties-  8th grade 3/20 and 7th grade 3/21 2:15-3:45.
