Winter Blues

As we move into late January and February this is always the part of the year that it is tough on teachers and students. Together we can be Amazing during this time. We need to continue to support one another and make time to collaborate and share in the work that we all have during this time. It is also important that we be aware to students social and emotional well being at this time. This is part of the year that those connections that we have made with students pay dividends. Make time for our community circles during advisory at least one day during the weeks. Listen to students, empathize with them. Patience is of utmost importance during this time as well. It is clear that many of our students struggle emotionally and socially and school can sometimes increase their anxiety. We don't even know who is struggling with what but make time for students to share with each other and to build community here at Lincoln. When students miss school follow up with them tell them they were missed. Plan for movement and social opportunities in your lesson plans. When we do these things we can be Amazing.
For our own social and emotional well being Friday we will have a Super Bowl Carry in during lunch. Bring and share your favorite Super Bowl snacks.
