March 16th-March 19th

Staff-  Hopefully all of you have read or heard Andy Hartley's message, if not please be sure to read through it.  Here at Lincoln, admin and secretaries will be in all week during regular hours.  Teachers do not have to report any of these days unless you desire.  Support staff can come in if you would like to work.  If you choose not that is okay as well.  We are and will come up with work for our support staff.  I would like staff to fill out this form to add ideas for work for our support staff.  Here are a couple of things to consider for our support staff. 

• If teachers are looking for help to pack up their personal belongings or other room items our support staff could help with this.  However, it most likely would require teachers to come in to organize their belongings to move. 
• Special Education aides and ELL aides can be utilized during our elearning days to check in with special education students and ELL students to help them with access to the content and accommodations needed.  This will require communication between the general education teachers and aides.  If there is a student that general education teachers are concerned with regarding completion of elearning assignments our aides could check in with these students to reduce the load on our general education teachers.  
• Support staff could also reach out to our students without internet and assist in preparing paper pencil resources for these students to be available for pick-up at the school.  This again would require communication between the general education teacher and our support staff.  

We will continue to brainstorm possible options for support staff tasks.  Again, if you have ideas please enter them in the form. 

Speaking of those students without internet, we sent out a list of those students on Friday.  If you have instructional materials ready for these students and need a way to get them to the students we will send out a contact to send them to tomorrow. 

Monday-  Support staff that are in attendance tomorrow will meet at 8:15 in the lounge. 

As we move into this elearning period here are some reminders to think about in preparing your lessons and working through these days:

• What standards are being addressed? 
• What modes of communication need to be considered for accessing curriculum? 
• What are the IEP goals, related services, and needs of each student? 
• How are lessons/activities differentiated? 
• What technology is integrated into instruction? 
• What technology is used in class regularly? 
• How can that be leveraged and reinforced with eLearning? 

I failed to mention that elearning assignments can be either planned daily or by week with tasks to complete over several days.  I imagine that if we have more elearning days after break we will have another work day to prepare.  We are entering unprecedented elearning times so please take into account the things we talked about Friday as well:

• Provide students opportunities to Read, Write, and Discuss
• Model new learning and directions using technology/screen casting when possible.  
• Provide practice opportunities for students - be mindful of what you ask students to practice 
• Provide frequent checks for understanding and feedback for students.  
• Provide a method for students to ask for help.  
• Check in with students.  

We are here to help if you need help as well.    Also, core teachers please remind students to check their powerschool schedules for their elective classes as we start the new quarter.
