Who we are and What we are about!

As we move through this school year, I think it is imperative to continue to reflect upon these two questions.  If you recall we attempted to answer these questions the first day together in August.  We stated that these two questions must drive everything we do.  We must live by the core values that define who we are and what we are about.  Here is a look at the work we did that day.

As we strive to be the best we can be and develop a culture that emphasizes who we are and what we are about each of you play a vital role in developing this culture.  What you do matters,  the relationships that you build with all students matter, the environment that you create in your classroom matters, the assignments and learning tasks you build matters, the behaviors that you model matter, everything you do matters.  TOGETHER we matter to kind of school we have.  At the conference I just attended a presenter made a great analogy that resonated with me.  The presenter stated that for seeds to grow and flourish the soil must be cultivated and rich.  Translated this meant that our culture (soil)  must cultivated and rich for our students (seeds) to flourish and grow.  Continuous reflection about Who we are and What we are about will help us enrich our soil.  Thanks for your continued efforts to build a positive culture here at Lincoln.
