How do we continue to improve? What are the improvements it takes to continue to get better at the things we care about. We get better specifically not generally therefore paying attention to one specific improvement and assessing that for impact is how we can continue to improve in classrooms and as a school. Developing a culture of improvement starts with admitting that we don't know and being willing to take the plunge to challenge ourselves to learn and grow. My vision of a culture of continuous improvement is one that consists of everyone continuing to learn and grow from each other through collaborative conversations, from feedback via admin but equally from each other and our students as well. It is a vision that we are continually seeking to know our impact and being reflective daily to measure student learning. This vision is tough work because it requires us to have a growth mindset and test our practices in seeking results. Why do we choose the strategies that we use in our lessons? Do they work? What if they don't? How do we know if they are working? Remember that teachers are the difference, you are the difference. You determine whether student learning takes place. This is a monumental responsibility and it is who we are. we are teachers, we are people who help others do more than they think they can. We are changing lives. So as we learn together to build a culture of improvement it is important that we help each other grow and learn. Providing feedback to each other through peer observation is helping each other continue to grow and improve and that is who we are. Here are some things to think about:
- How have you used what you know and have learned about students to set them up for success?
- How do you measure your impact in the classroom daily?
- Do you help students know where they are in relationship to the objectives?
- Are you sharing your successes with others? How about your failures? Yes it is okay to fail we learn from them.
- Have you visited another classroom and provided feedback to who you observed?

Teams continue to have really good collaborations during our collaboration Wednesdays: Here are some highlights:
Language Arts: Teachers shared student work of Yes Maam writing last week. It was awesome to learn from each other how students are doing and see evidence of student learning. Their focused goals are to improve comprehension of complex text and improve writing.
Special Education: The team continues collaborate on ways to help students be more successful more of the time.
New Tech: The team celebrated the success of the haunted maze last week. The team continues to focus on improving students comprehension of complex text throughout the teams
Math: Continues to share strategies to help students conceptualize math and to solve higher order thinking problems. They have been working to implement Go Math with more fidelity with the theory that by using Go Math with fidelity students will be better prepared to solve and understand more complex problems which match the complexity of ILEARN and future math courses.
Great work by all teams to continue to learn and grow through our collaboration. You all are doing great work.
