Thank you to everyones efforts to connect with with students so far this year. We started with the task of getting to know our students better than ever before and by doing so we will be more successful in helping students achieve academically, socially, and emotionally.
Thank you for your fidelity to our community circles in advisory thus far. Students are connecting with teachers and each other more than ever before.
Thank you for working diligently on Monday PD days to identify and problem solve students that are not being successful with our tier 1 instruction and behavior expectations. This process has been new to us all this year and together we can continue to fine tune the processes so that we are even more successful more of the time with these students.
Thank you to adhering to and reinforcing the Away for the Day phone policy this year. This has been great thing for our students and the classroom learning environment. I am a proponent of technology however with technology comes our responsibility to set expectations. Continue to monitor students computer use when lids are up.
Thank you for your efforts to stay positive with all of the meetings that we have. Collaboration, Monday PD, leadership, Behavior Leadership, Academic RTI, School Improvement, Spirit Assembly, monthly check ins, and other ad hoc meetings. These meetings allow for your voice to be heard and again we are better together when we work together rather than in isolation.
Thank you for your growth mindsets with the abundant amounts of feedback loops. We have increased the amount of feedback to teachers through walk-throughs and provided teachers with feedback on their instruction. Our job is to be reflective in our practices and hopefully the feedback helps you be reflective in your instruction. I thank you for providing me feedback monthly via the google feedback forms that have been located on the blog each month. This feedback help me think. Also thank you for your feedback provided to our students in your classes. Feedback is a high impact strategy and helps students know where they are academically and behaviorally in your classes.
Thank you to your commitment to continuous improvement. We all know that this commitment will make us the best we can be. The commitment is evident in your collaborative conversations during our meetings and by your actions each day in your classrooms. You continue to be student centered and work hard to improve instruction to help students be successful every day.
Lastly, thank you for reading the blog weekly and being willing to look at new and improved ways of doing school.

8th Grade Advisory Our 8th grade advisory teachers are working with our 8th grade students to prepare them for college and careers through the advisory class with the same name. Students are learning about the new grad pathways that go into effect for the class of 2023. I appreciate your flexibility with the weekly meetings and helping facilitate this new learning for our students. This last week students heard about employability skills from Aimee Portteus from PHS. Here are the skills:
How might we as 7th and 8th grade teachers emphasize these during students two years here at Lincoln? We will visit this driving question as a staff throughout the year.
Spirit Assembly: Our first assembly of the year went well. Students were recognized, showed spirit, heard about the power of helping others, and had fun. Oh yeah and they behaved pretty well. A special thank you to the team that planned the assembly, Mrs. Neidlinger, Mrs. Derifield, Mr. Miller, Mr. Alhrich, and Mrs. Wolhfert. Thanks to Kim Bodmer and Nikki Pittman for housing our Friday night school students during the assembly. Special thanks to Mr. Hopple for his planning as well. On to December!

Please do not send any student to the cafeteria. All students will be called down at their appropriate times. Each student will receive a ticket that will be used for their admittance to the party. Students must enter the cafeteria with their ticket in the main hallway outside the office area. Students will be greeted by my me where I will collect their tickets. Tickets will be distributed during advisory classes the day of the party. Please make sure all students receiving a ticket put their name on it. They need to keep their tickets and have them when attending the party. Students who loose their tickets will not be permitted to attend the party. Any other questions, please ask. Thank you
