Amazing First Week @ New School

 Staff-  We had an Amazing first week at our new building.  It was awesome to finally have students back in school.  I thank all of you for your positivity and awesome mindsets as we started in person instruction.  As we continue to get adjusted to our new surroundings continue to help students get adjusted as well.  Students seem to being doing pretty well with our COVID procedures. Continue to remind students to socially distance as much as possible, wear their masks, and wash their hands.  It seems that teachers are finding out what works regarding the cleaning desks procedures, these will now become routine for everyone.  We have all learned so much and made the necessary adjustments as we learn.  This is what we do, we learn, we adjust, and we improve.  Many of our procedures will continue to change and improve as we go through the year.  I appreciate everyones flexibility and patience as we get the year underway.  

Great job of managing both in person and virtual students.  We realize this is a new and complex task for everyone.  It will look clunky at times however if we continue to grow and learn we will be Amazing together.  Remember to continue to share what is working with each other.  

Accolades @ Lincoln

All teachers for their continued efforts to manage both virtual and in person learning.  I am impressed and have your back.  Continue to learn and grow.  Thanks also to all teachers for helping students navigate the building and for actively supervising the halls.  

Angie Bronicki and Steve Miller-  Both were using google meet breakout rooms to include their virtual students right along side their in person students.  I received feedback from a parent thanking Steve for providing a great learning environment for their virtual learner.  Steve was making sure he was always in close proximity to the microphone, used the ipad to show students asking questions throughout classes, and checked for understanding frequently for their student.  I have received other feedback that has been very positive as a whole about all teachers and their work with virtual learners.  

Shannon Verheaghe-  Shannon displayed a Lincoln mindset (growth mindset and positivity) when I received some feedback from a parent that their virtual student was struggling in one her classes.  Shannon welcomed the feedback and made some tweaks to her classroom set up to better meet the needs of all of her students.  She also reached out to the parent to see what else she could do to help.  Awesome work Shannon.  

Kudos to Becky Walters and Jake Singleton for working through the attendance issues with managing the attendance of both in person and virtual learners.  

Carol Gilbert- We successfully hosted our first two athletic events of the year this past week.  Carol has worked heard over the last month to prepare for these events with all the new COVID restrictions and requirements.  The events were successful and safe for all the players, workers, and spectators.  We even received Exemplary Behavior report to the state for our COVID procedures and safety.  Well done!

There are so many positives thus far and it is because of all staff that we had an Amazing first week.  Kudos to everyone.

NWEA BOY Assessment-  Wednesday Sept. 2nd Math and Thursday Sept. 3rd Reading.  Linked is information regarding the upcoming testing.  Please read closely and let us know if you have any questions.  For those students that are testing virtually they will need to use the url rather than the NWEA APP on their device.  This will allow for students to still be connected with classrooms and proctors while testing.  Teachers will need to proctor the test using their computers while having your Google Meeting for virtual students on your iPad.
