Staff- We are about to get students back for the first time in 6 months. Students will be excited, scared, apprehensive, confused, and lost as will we. It will be our challenge to give students confidence, hope, assurance, and comfort. It will be upon us to provide those things for each other and for Team Lincoln. Together we can do this. Your preparation, your confidence, your mindsets will be the answer and the solution to these fears and concerns. Not only are students coming back to a different learning environment procedurally they will also be entering a big, shinny, new building. We will, as a team, teach students about perseverance, about believing in the world, believing in themselves, and believing in each other. We lead the way, Students will follow our lead and take on our culture. I know that many of us have concerns and apprehensions about how things will work out, it is our job to inspire and motivate students to believe in Team Lincoln. We can do it. The expectations that we make for our school and classes become the expectations for all of us. This is a unique year in that we get two first days and we all know the importance of a first day. We are in this together, have each others back, have our students back. I believe in each one of you to help Lincoln be Amazing this year. Let's have an Amazing second first day.
Accolades @ Lincoln:
Thank you to all teachers for your positivity and hard work throughout our first 8 days of elearning. I have been impressed with the professionalism and nose to the grindstone approach that our staff has taken. You have been Amazing.
Thank you to Fabian, Lori, Sue Gruett, Audria, and Jake for touring students for 4 days this week. This was an important thing for us to do for our incoming students. Thanks to teachers for being flexible during the tours and working with kids who might have missed a class or two to tour the building.
Thanks to Ashley Oliver and Sue Gruett for going the extra mile to help us get ready for the kids. they both put together our sanitizing stations throughout the school and Sue stayed beyond her schedule time to make our evacuation routes were present in all rooms. We could never have been ready without both of you. Thanks so much you are Amazing.

Second First Day notes:
Arrival: Students will arrive starting at 7:30 and the bell will ring at 7:45 for students to move to their 5th period classes. At 7:45 we will need all teachers to line the hallways from the gym and cafeteria to the classrooms to help students get where they are going. It will be a challenge as students will not know where they are going and some won't know who they have for 5th period. We will need to stay positive and help students get where they need to be with a smile on our faces, that they won't see.
When students arrive each morning they will visit a sanitizing station on there way in, they will have masks on, and they will have back packs and water bottles with them. Students are allowed to carry both their back packs and water bottles throughout the day.
5th Period: 7:55- 9:50 Use the 1st 2 day document to guide your time with students. 2 hour delay schedule. Do not forget the Principal Talk google meets.
Passing Periods- Please be out in the halls to help students get where they are going and remind students to keep moving. Students should not congregate and we will not be allowing students to stop or use any of the flex furniture throughout the school. If you see students attempting to do so please direct them to keep moving and to get where they need to be, promote social distancing while supervising the hallways. I ask that those teachers closest to the collaboration hub take the lead on supervising this area throughout each day. those teachers closet to the bathrooms please keep an eye on these areas as well, promote social distancing and hand washing. Those teachers closets to other stairways throughout the school, please keep an eye on these stairways as well. Our cameras are not yet active and we have not yet been trained on the use of the cameras.
Cleaning of Desks: Teachers should build into their end of class procedures to clean desks. Our suggestion is for teachers to spray and students to wipe the desks using paper towels that have been placed in your classes. I would suggest leaving 5 minutes at the end of each period to do this to begin with. Once it becomes routine I would think 2-3 minutes would be suffice.
Water Fountains- Students should only be using the water bottle fillers on all fountains. If you see students using the bubblers please teach them the procedure and encourage them to bring a water bottle.
Passes out of class: Students should use restrooms during passing periods however you can give students passes to go to the restroom during class. Anytime students leave classes with passes upon return have them use hand sanitizer. All students should have passes and ID's on when leaving classes.
Lunch: All students should report to advisory, 5th period, before going to lunch or recess. Teachers are asked to walk students to lunch or recess using the routes indicated. Please know the routes and times.
All teachers are then to pick students up from lunch or recess and return to advisory.
Student backpacks should be left in advisory classrooms not brought to the cafeteria.
Dismissal: - Student dismissal is at 3:00. Please help students get where they are going. Bus riders will report to the cafeteria and walkers/riders will report to the far west gym doors for pick-up.
That is all for this Saturday morning. Stay tuned for more information throughout the weekend and let us know if you have any other questions. Have an Amazing weekend.
